We were camping in the woods and we had a view which was fairly obstructed by trees. What made this particular fireball stand out was how the light penetrated the trees so well. There was a clearing around 500' beyond the trees, so the treeline wasn't dense enough to entirely obstruct our view. I saw it intermittently as it passed by gaps in the treeline. My wife was there and she saw it as well. We've both seen many meteors and this was the brightest we'd ever seen and the only with such a flash.
